HYBRID STOVE FAQThe following are a few of the most commonly asked questions about Hybrid Stoves.

What is a Hybrid Stove?
A hybrid stove is meticulously designed to combine a 2-stage and 3-stage burn system to deliver maximum performance. The second stage burn allows for cleaner burns upon startup and the third stage produces greater fuel efficiency, burn times, and reduces emissions. Regency Hybrid Stoves produce less than 2.0 grams/hour in emissions.
How does a Hybrid Stove Work?
The secondary burn uses air tubes to re-introduce oxygen into the firebox creating a secondary burn of the combustion by-products from the first burn. The secondary burn uses the gasses and particulates (smoke) created from the first burn to produce a higher temperature and a cleaner burn. With Eco-Boost technology, Regency stoves introduce a third-stage burn with the assistance of a combustor where the by-products of the secondary burn are once again reignited; further increasing temperature output and reducing emissions.
What is the Benefit of a Hybrid Stove?
Hybrid Stoves are dramatically more efficient, eco-friendly, and produce more heat, more evenly, for longer periods of time.
Stoves typically spend 80% or more of their burn life at low temperatures (overnight, while users are at work, etc.). A Hybrid Stove with Eco-Boost technology will be more efficient and generate fewer emissions during these lower temperature burns than a traditional stove. Low to mid temperature burns is where a Hybrid Stove thrives and is the primary reason for the associated higher efficiency and lower emission ratings.
Don’t Hybrid Stoves Require Constant Repairs & Maintenance?
No. If properly taken care of the combustor can last up to 10 years. When catalytic stoves were first released they were not designed to protect the combustor from the flame. This caused many issues for consumers trying to operate their stoves and causing damage to the combustor. Regency Hybrid Stoves featuring Eco-Boost Technology leverages patented flame spreader technology to protect the combustor and ensure an even flame distribution.
Like any wood stove, maintenance should be performed periodically to ensure the maximum lifetime of your wood stove components. There is a minimal amount of additional maintenance for a hybrid stove vs a traditional stove.
Are Hybrid Stoves Covered Under Warranty?
Yes, all Regency Hybrid Stoves featuring Eco-Boost technology are covered under our industry leading lifetime limited warranty and our combustors are covered under an industry leading 10-year warranty. Rest easy knowing that your Regency is backed by the best warranty in the industry.
